Join us for evening of exploration as we celebrate the winter solstice with an in-person lectur"Winter Stargazing: A Journey Through the Night Sky." We will guide you through the iconic constellations that adorn the winter sky, including the majestic Orion and the bright twins of Gemini. You’ll learn about their mythology, significance, and how to identify them from your own backyard.

Weather permitting, there a stargazing session will follow the lecture. We’ll observe the planets Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars through a telescope. Come ready to experience the beauty of the cosmos firsthand. Feel free to bring your own telescope.

William Francis Taylor, MSc, will present the lecture and lead the star party. He is Hamptons Observatory’s Senior Educator and has been a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador since 2014, lecturing about the universe around us and sharing his love of the heavens by giving guided tours of the sky through telescopes.

Hamptons Observatory thanks the Eastville Community Historical Society for its kind collaboration, and William Francis Taylor for sharing his expertise.
